When a customer from Brisbane's coastal region approached us about a deck-mounted crane project, we knew from the beginning that this wouldn't be an off-the-shelf solution.

The crane needed to be welded directly onto the vessel deck and operate reliably in the harsh Australian marine environment. Saltwater exposure, limited deck space and weight restrictions all had to be considered from day one.

Over the following weeks, there were plenty of emails, drawings and technical discussions going back and forth between both teams. As the customer's requirements became clearer, the design evolved with them. Several details were adjusted along the way, from mounting arrangements to operating geometry, until the crane matched the vessel layout exactly as required.

One of the biggest priorities for this project was corrosion resistance. Anyone working around the Queensland coastline understands how aggressive the marine environment can be on steel equipment. To address this, the crane was designed with enhanced anti-corrosion protection to ensure long-term reliability and reduced maintenance requirements.

Weight was another key factor. By optimizing the structure and removing unnecessary mass wherever possible, our engineering team delivered a lightweight design that reduced deck load without sacrificing lifting performance or strength.

In the end, what started as an initial concept became a crane tailored specifically for the vessel, the operating environment and the customer's expectations.

Projects like this remind us that successful marine equipment is rarely about simply building a product — it's about working through the details together until the solution feels like it was always meant to be there. are resolved. For us, supporting our customers and minimizing downtime will always remain our highest priority.
